We offer a limited selection of attractive garden planters and pots.

The Butterfly, Hummingbird, Dragonfly and Frog pots are members of a design series and match other benches and birdbaths and in the case of Dragonfly; a fountain.

We also manufacture some faces that have a fabric bag attached to the back of the piece. This can be used to hold a nursery pot or be planted into directly.

Hortus Reginae , Hortus Rex and the face planters are highly attractive when planted with foliage that resembles hair.

All planters and pots are designed to drain and can be left outside year-round.

American Colonial Urn

In this series of benches, birdbaths, fountains, planters, pedestals and lamp, seasoned designer & sculptor Klaus Kinast has attempted to capture the design essence of the American Colonial period. This term generally refers to that period of U.S. history from the time of European settlement (the late 16th c.) up to independence in 1776, with particular emphasis on the Thirteen Colonies of Britain. The design of this period was predominately that of the European states from where the settlers came from, but was influenced by the simpler lives that these people lived. Gone was the heavy emphasis on ostentatious decoration, instead being replaced by a simpler, less cluttered and easier style. Great use was made of local woods in furniture design and quilting and fabric became important decoration.  Motifs were generally simple in the form of natural flowers & fruit. As the style developed, higher grade furniture was introduced along with decorative accessories and fabrics.

Buddha Faces for the garden

Buddha Face Medium – Pot Holder

Buddha (563?- 483?BC), Indian philosopher and the founder of Buddhism, born in Kapilavastu, India, just inside present-day Nepal. His name Gautama Buddha is a combination of the family name Gautama and the appellation Buddha, meaning “Enlightened One.”  One day in 533, according to tradition, he encountered an aged man, a sick man, and a corpse, and he suddenly realized that suffering is the common lot of humankind. He then came upon a mendicant monk, calm and serene, whereupon he determined to adopt his way of life and forsake family, wealth, and power in the quest for truth. Accompanied by disciples, Buddha traveled through the valley of the Ganges River, teaching his doctrines, gathering followers, and establishing monastic communities that admitted anyone regardless of caste. Buddha’s teachings have influenced the lives of millions of people for nearly 2500 years.

Frog Pot

There is something about frogs that appeals to people. Children are fascinated by them and will spend hours trying to at first locate and then capture them.  As adults, many of us never lose the enjoyment of seeing a frog up close. We do, however, lose the desire to search ponds and other froggy type dwellings.

There are two benches, a birdbath and a pot in this matching collection of Frog-themed garden décor. If frogs are not you favourite, then look for our other collections – dragonflies, butterflies and hummingbirds.

Treeman, Polynesian Tiki & Leaf Maiden Mask Pot Holders

Polynesian Tiki Mask – Pot Holder

The word Tiki refers to large wooden and stone carvings of humanoid forms originating from Polynesian cultures found in the South Pacific. They are found as far apart as New Zealand, Easter Island and Hawaii. The fearsome god-like carvings served to mark boundaries around significant or ceremonial sites and are often grotesque in appearance.

In the early 20thC, ‘Tiki Culture’ arose in North America. Tiki heads and paraphernalia were used by restaurants and clubs to evoke feelings of relaxation; think Mai Tais, flowery shirts and sunny beaches.

Treeman, Polynesian Tiki & Leaf Maiden Mask Pot Holders

Treeman Mask – Pot Holder

This cute woodland fellow is hand made in North America by Castart Studios. He is made from a high quality concrete that has been uniquely stained for an aged patina look. He can be left outside, year round (even in the harshest environment) or enjoyed indoors. Treeman is a close relative to the mythical Greenman; the difference being Treeman’s face emerges from the roots of a tree, Greenman’s emerges from the foliage. In many cultures, past and present, these characters are believed to symbolize the rebirth of the growing cycle each spring.
